Behind the Canvas
Hi, I'm Deboshree Dutta (Deb).
I'm a San Francisco–based contemporary artist, technologist, and lifelong creative.
A technologist by day (Senior Director of Product at Salesforce), and artist by night, over the last decade, I have been featured on Forbes, SXSW, New York Times, Harvard Business School, Apartment Therapy and others for both my creative and entrepreneurial work.
I started painting at 40, as a way to slow down, fill that creative void since my startup.
My work has been featured in juried gallery exhibitions and curated art events across San Francisco, today my work explores architecture, atmosphere, and the human experience through simplified forms, layered textures, and contemporary compositions. Rather than documenting a specific place or moment, I create paintings that invite a feeling—of warmth, stillness, or quiet reflection.
My collections are inspired by the spaces we inhabit and the stories we carry with us, from handmade architecture to contemporary figurative works, pop and illustrative art influenced by my cross-cultural Indian American life journey.
