Desert Daughters
Desert Daughters explores quiet strength through restraint.
Inspired in part by my Indian roots—and by the timeless beauty of women shaped by culture, place, and lineage— these original paintings are part of my ongoing exploration of contemporary figurative art where the figures are intentionally simplified, allowing emotion and presence to emerge through form rather than detail.
About Deb
I started painting at 40 - after building my startup. And I'm in love.
I'm a technologist by day (Product executive at Salesforce), and have been featured on Forbes, SXSW, New York Times, Harvard Business School, Apartment Therapy and others over the years for both my creative and entrepreneurial work. I started painting as a way to slow down, fill the creative void since my startup.
My work has been featured in juried gallery exhibitions and curated art events across San Francisco, today my work explores two recurring themes. Some paintings are inspired by architecture and atmosphere—sunlit courtyards, weathered walls, hidden staircases, and places that feel suspended in time. Others focus on people—moments of reflection, conversation, creativity, and everyday rituals. Together, they form an evolving collection of contemporary paintings inspired by travel, thoughtful interiors, and the quiet beauty of ordinary life.
Every painting is created with the hope that it will become part of a home and be lived with for years to come.

Quiet Rituals
Quiet Rituals, my collection of illustrative art that explores the private ceremonies that shape our lives - inspired by the beauty of everyday moments that go unnoticed.
A figure adjusting a dress. Sunlight falling across a wall. A familiar walk home. A room waiting in silence. Each painting is an invitation to pause, observe, and find meaning in the ordinary.
Through art, I explore the places we linger and the rituals that slow us down.
I fell in love with painting while creating a home I truly loved. I was searching for artwork that felt timeless, warm, and quietly contemporary—pieces that brought a room to life without demanding attention. When I couldn't quite find what I was looking for, I began painting them myself.
Today my work explores two recurring themes. Some paintings are inspired by architecture and atmosphere—sunlit courtyards, weathered walls, hidden staircases, and places that feel suspended in time. Others focus on people—moments of reflection, conversation, creativity, and everyday rituals. Together, they form an evolving collection of contemporary paintings inspired by travel, beautifully designed interiors, and the quiet beauty of ordinary life.
Where Time Lingers
Sun-washed arches. Quiet courtyards. Terracotta tones. Endless summers.
In this original series I explore the imperfect beauty of handmade spaces and the feeling of wandering through villages that seem suspended in time.
